If the temperature of the air around your windows is noticeably different than the rest of your home, your windows are likely letting the outside air in. Any current of wind coming from your closed windows is a surefire sign that your windows are not doing their job and may need updating.
Spike In Energy Bill
If your heating bill skyrockets unexpectedly, you’re likely heating the outside along with your home. As the heat escapes from faulty windows, your furnace works overtime to keep the rest of your home at a consistent temperature. The same goes for cool air in the summer months. Many older homes have single paned windows that are likely accompanied by window frames that have seen better days. While replacing all of your windows may seem like a daunting task, your wallet will thank you in the long run. Old windows tend to be drafty and do poorly to keep heat in, and outside noise out.
